"Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways, acknowledge Him
and He will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Sometimes, people think that they readily know their directions in lives. Some have great dreams while some others have perfect models of life with great career & great family while securing their tickets to heaven... However, is this God’s Plan for your life?
"The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. He thought to himself, 'What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.' Then he said, 'This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I'll say to myself, "You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry." ' But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?'" (Luke 12:16-20)
Unlike the rich fool, we are to align ourselves with God’s Plan for our lives, in which we are with full confidence knowing that it is for our own good.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
In view of this, the theme of our camp is “Spiritual Compass”, a compass with an arrow that always points us to our Abba Father. This camp aims to provide an avenue for us to start a journey of discovery for His plans in our lives. It will be a time of reflective seeking, when campers are continually redirected to God in order to know Him more. It will be a time of self-discovery, when we are challenged to seek and take up the plan that He has drawn for our lives.
Here in UTAR, many of us are standing at the crossroads of our lives. There are many paths that we can choose, but this we know for sure: Jesus said, “You did not choose me but I chose you” (John 15:16). As handpicked chosen ones of our very own precious Lord, do we trust that he has a destiny for us? One of those paths we have before us will lead to it. Let’s find it, shall we?
